Terms of Service

Roadze gathers traffic cameras that US state Departments of Transportation already publish and puts them on one map. We do not own, operate, aim or maintain any camera. We do not add cameras of our own.

The service is free to use. An account is optional and only unlocks saving favourites and keeping recordings.

This matters more than anything else on this page. A camera image can be minutes old, frozen, or replaced by a placeholder without warning. Cameras go offline constantly and their operators do not always say so.

Do not use Roadze to decide whether a road is safe, whether a pass is open, or whether to drive into weather. For that, follow your state DOT, the police and official road closure notices. Roadze shows you what a camera published; it does not tell you the road is clear.

And never use it while driving.

We try to keep the service up, but we do not promise it. Camera feeds come from government servers we do not control: when a state's system goes down, those cameras go down here too, and there is nothing we can do about it.

We may change, pause or discontinue parts of the service. If we ever shut it down for good, we will say so beforehand to anyone with an account.

Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens through your account. Tell us if you think someone else got into it.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We keep it for 30 days in case you change your mind, then erase it permanently.

We may suspend accounts that attack the service, scrape it in bulk, or use it to harass people.

Recordings you make are of public road cameras and are stored for you. Do not use them to identify, follow or harass anyone, and do not present them as evidence of something they do not show. You are responsible for what you do with a recording once you have it.

The camera images belong to the transport agencies that publish them and remain theirs. The Roadze name, design and code are ours.

Map data is © Mapbox and © OpenStreetMap, credited on the map itself as their licences require.

Roadze is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from using it — including decisions taken from what a camera did or did not show.

Nothing here removes rights you have that cannot be removed by an agreement.

If these terms change we update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use Roadze after that means the new version applies.
